Most Sacred Heart of Jesus

Jesus’ Sacred Heart contains perfect love. Within Jesus’ Sacred Heart we find His devotion for our salvation. By uniting with Jesus in His Passion, meaning loving the Cross and entering His Sacred Heart, our suffering unites with His.

In His Sacred Heart Jesus accepts all our desires. The prayers we voice with true desire, are accepted. The prayers in our hearts that we do not voice but desire for them to be heard, are heard. The prayers we begin and desire to complete but are interrupted, are completed. Our desire to receive the Eucharist when it is not possible to do so, is an accepted desire.

In His Sacred Heart Jesus lifts our prayers and makes them perfect before presenting them to the Father. Jesus’ Sacred Heart is an endless source of grace for us. We gain graces through daily prayer, kind acts, words and thoughts. But we also miss receiving graces because of distractions or neglect or laziness. Jesus never lets our missed graces be wasted. He retains them in His Heart and keeps them for us. All we have to do is ask for them.

Every night before we sleep we should not only thank Him for the graces we have received but also for the graces that we have missed. Ask to receive those missed graces. As we continue to receive these graces from God we are drawn even closer to Jesus, enabling us to fulfil the mission each of us has been given in our lives.

O Sacred Heart of Jesus,
for whom it is impossible not to have compassion on the afflicted,
have pity on us miserable sinners and
grant us the grace which we ask of you,
through the Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary, your Mother and ours.

Amen.
